Tournament Rules:

• Games will start on time. Do not wait for the game before you to end to start warming up. Find an open space between fields and go to work. The Tournament Director reserves the right to move any game. We suggest you distribute directions and maps to all your parents and players.
• All games will be played according to current MNJYSA rules with the following exception: Divisions 3 and 4 (large sided) will play three 50 minute games (25 minute halves). Two minutes at half time.
• Large sided winners of the first game in each flight will play each other for first and second place in their second game. Losers in the first game will play their second game for third and fourth place.
• Division 5 (small sided) will play four 40 minute games (20 minute halves). Two minutes at half time; just change sides of field.
• In the event of a tie game (large sided), FIFA penalty kicks will be taken, with the following exceptions: Any player on the tournament roster will be eligible to take part in the shootout, not just those players on the field at the end of the game. A separate field will be used for shoot-outs. Small sided ties shall remain ties,
• Free substitutions will be allowed on goal kicks, your own throw-in, after goals, and at half time.
• No protests will be allowed. Decision of the referee will be final.
• Any player or coach issued a red card will not be allowed to participate for the remainder of the tournament.
• Yellow cards are not cumulative for the tournament, but are cumulative during each individual game.
• No guest players. Secondary passes are not allowed for any divisions.
• No added injury time.
• Individual awards will be awarded to first, second, and third place teams. Gold medals for first, silver medals for second, and bronze medals for third place will be awarded. There are a maximum of 18 awards per large sided team and 14 awards per small sided team. Division 5 & 6 teams will receive participation gifts for all participants. There will be one team trophy for all Division 3 and 4 flight winners.

Tournament Cancellation:

Our fields have excellent drainage. The tournament will be played through almost anything. September is normally a dry month. In the unlikely event that any games need to be cancelled, for whatever reason, there are no provisions for making up games.

In addition, no refund will be given for cancelled games once the Tournament begins.

Tournament Format:

1. After Tournament play, the following format will be used for Playoffs:

Semifinals 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3, Finals = Semifinal Winners.

Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win.

All tied matches will be decided by penalty kicks. The winning team to receive 3 points for the win and the losing team to receive 1 point for the tied match.

2. Tie Breaker Format:

a. Head to Head competition (in the event of a two way tie see 3 below).

b. Total goals against (least).

c. Total goals scored (maximum five (5) goals per game).

d. Total goal differential (maximum (5) goals per game. (G.F. minus G.A.)).

e. Penalty kick method as described by FIFA.

3. Tie Breaker format in the event of more than a two way tie.

a. Total goals against (least).

b. Head to Head competition.

c. Total goals scored (maximum of five (5) goals per games).

d. Total goal differential (maximum (5) goals per game. (G.F. minus G.A.)).

e. Penalty kick method as described by FIFA.

Tournament Conduct:

1. Smoking is not allowed on school property.

2. Pets are not allowed on school property.

3. Players, coaches and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the spirit of the law as well as the letter of the law. Display of offensive language, temper, or dissent is cause for ejection from the game and field of play. Coaches shall be held responsible for the conduct of all persons on their team and those supporting the team.

4. Each team shall share the same side of the field while the spectators will occupy the opposite side.

5. The referee only may suspend play or abandon the game. If the referee abandons the game due to misconduct by players, coaches, or spectators on one team, a victory will be awarded to the opposing team with the score being 1-0.

6. Players, coaches and team officials ejected from a game by the referee shall be automatically suspended for the following game and, depending on the violation, may be suspended for more games as determined by the Tournament Committee.

7. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on school property.
